Corridor lighting: how to make it brighter
The first room encountered upon entering the house is, just beyond the vestibule, the corridor: it anticipates the style of the entire house and the attention to detail of the landlady. For this reason it is important to give due importance to the corridor, both from the point of view of furniture and from that of lighting.
How to illuminate a narrow and long corridor?
The corridor is usually dimly lit naturally and it is therefore important to implement a series of measures to give light to the environment. Green light therefore to mirrors, glass French windows, choice of light colors in the walls and flooring but above all the right lighting. If the corridor is long and narrow but has high ceilings, you can dare with a decent sized chandelier or small suspension lamps. Widely used are LED strips on the edge of the skirting board or ceiling which create an impressive illuminated corridor. Among the latest trends is that of creating a solar tunnel: it is about creating holes where to insert telescopic diffusers that let the light pass thanks to external glass captors.
Wall lights, spotlights or LEDs: what kind of lights to use?
To illuminate a long, narrow corridor, there is always the possibility of using appliques on the walls, which make the environment elegant and never go out of style, even if the prevailing style is modern. In this case, however, it is better to integrate them with some adjustable spotlights intended to illuminate some strategic point that needs attention. Then there are the LED lights, which can be arranged to almost recreate a beautiful constellation on the ceiling and then the spotlights: there are the adjustable ones to be directed to particular areas, recessed and which can also be positioned on the walls as a path marker or suspended, with small arms metal industrial style.
Modern or Vintage: how to illuminate any type of corridor
If the corridor to be furnished is in a classic style, the best way to illuminate is to opt for a vintage-style chandelier or applique on the walls, perhaps in wrought iron, metal or wood. If there is a reading corner with an armchair and a table, an abat jour or a floor lamp with a fabric or glass shade must never be missing. If the corridor is modern it will usually be sparsely furnished and therefore green light for LED spotlights on the ceiling, LED strips on the walls or on the floor, setting aside the presence of a chandelier.
Warm or cold lights: which ones to choose
If the corridor has a classic style, it is better to choose a warm light between 2700 and 3500 degrees Kelvin, while if it is a more modern and contemporary environment, then it would be better to emphasize the clean lines of the environment with a neutral light between 3600 and 4000 degrees Kelvin, without being too cold so as not to make the corridor too sterile.
Choose the best lighting to enhance the corridor of your home, choosing the best from wall lights, pendant lamps and chandeliers of all types, colors and prices.
